Fahrzeugbedarf Kotz & Co KG was founded in 1965 as a sales company of BPW Bergische Achsenfabrik.
Initially based in Josefstädter Straße in Vienna, the company moved to its newly built current headquarters in Industriestraße in Guntramsdorf in 1994.
In 2000, the Fahrzeugbedarf subsidiary R.A.L. – formed from the companies REV, ALB and LAV – was founded with the aim of creating a nationwide distribution network for commercial vehicle parts in Austria.
The companies Fahrzeugbedarf and R.A.L. were merged in 2016.
Fahrzeugbedarf Kotz & Co KG currently operates at seven locations in Austria and, with its subsidiary Ral Parts d.o.o. founded in 2009, at four locations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

BPW Bergische Achsen Kommanditgesellschaft is the parent company of the BPW Group.
With more than 1,600 employees, including around 120 trainees, the family-owned company has been developing and producing complete running gear systems for truck trailers and semi-trailers at its headquarters in Wiehl since 1898.
