The role of the charge air cooler
The intercooler lowers the temperature of the compressed air between the turbocharger and the intake tract. This increases the density of the air, which leads to better combustion, more power and a lower exhaust gas temperature. If the intake air temperature is high, the engine management system can limit performance – an efficient cooler helps to avoid this.
Precise cooling technology for stable performance
For an intercooler to work, the core dimensions, connection dimensions, material surfaces and sealing solutions must match exactly. Only with correct integration can pressure drop, leaks and temperature resistance be minimized so that the cooler works reliably in the long term.
