Sealing under load
Sealing rings (e.g. shaft seals, O-rings) ensure that oil, fuel or coolant do not leak out and that no foreign substances penetrate. They secure critical transition points, for example on shafts, flanges or covers, and make a significant contribution to the tightness of the engine and its systems.
Technology that keeps tight
For a gasket to function permanently, the material, cross-section and compression mechanism must be selected correctly. The ring-shaped design must be matched to the sealing surface in order to provide lasting elasticity. Important factors are compatibility with lubricants, temperature zones and the degree of pressure.
