Invisible helpers in the engine
Engine gaskets ensure that oil, coolant and combustion gases stay where they belong. They prevent leaks between components such as the crankcase, cylinder head, oil pan, valve cover and other interfaces. Failure of these seals can lead to a loss of performance, engine damage or higher emissions.
Diverse applications
Seals have to meet different requirements depending on the area of application: Heat, pressure, chemical stress and mechanical movement demand maximum resistance from the material and structure. Modern seals often consist of combinations of metal, elastomers and composite materials in order to optimally combine energy absorption and sealing function.
