Decisive components
The thermostat controls the coolant flow: it opens when a certain temperature is reached and closes when the engine cools down. This ensures that the engine reaches operating temperature quickly and does not overheat later on. The seal around the thermostat lever or the thermostat housing prevents leaks and ensures that the cooling system remains tight.
Fine tuning
For the interaction to work, the opening temperature, connection dimensions and seal type must be precisely matched. Only then will the cooling system remain harmonious, and neither a valve that is opened too early nor closed too late will impair performance or service life.
