Indispensable hydraulic filters
Hydraulic systems in commercial vehicles generate high pressure and must be precisely controlled. Working hydraulic filters clean the hydraulic fluid by filtering out particles and impurities. In this way, they protect valves, pumps and cylinders from wear and ensure smooth operation and a long service life.
Efficient filter technology
An effective hydraulic filter must have a high dirt holding capacity, be resistant to pressure and temperature fluctuations and be suitably dimensioned for integration into the system. It will only protect the system efficiently if the flow rate, filter fineness and connection dimensions are optimally matched.

What should you look out for when buying:
Filtration in the special truck sector: working and auxiliary drives
In the truck sector, working hydraulic filters are of crucial importance for all vehicles with hydraulic attachments or auxiliary drives (PTO). These include tippers, cranes, refuse collection vehicles, silo vehicles and timber transporters. These hydraulic systems often operate under extremely high pressure (up to 400 bar) and are exposed to dirt and particles caused by rough outdoor use or abrasion in the cylinder. The hydraulic filter must reliably remove these very fine particles, as they would otherwise irreparably damage the sensitive high-performance pumps, control blocks and precision valves in the system.
Different filter types for different tasks
Hydraulic systems in commercial vehicles generally require multi-stage filtration, which is realized by different filter types. The suction filter protects the hydraulic pump from coarse particles that have entered the tank. The pressure filter, which is fitted downstream of the pump, works under the highest pressures and is crucial for fine cleaning of the fluid before it reaches the valves. Finally, the return filter provides final cleaning as the oil flows back into the tank. Each of these filters must have a specific filtration fineness (often in the range of 3 to 25 microns) and enormous pressure resistance to ensure system reliability.
Importance of the filter medium and maintenance
The performance of the working hydraulic filter depends heavily on the quality of the filter medium, which is often made of glass fiber or multi-layer fleece to ensure a high dirt-holding capacity with a low pressure drop. When it comes to maintenance, it is absolutely essential in the truck sector to strictly adhere to the replacement intervals specified by the manufacturer due to the long and hard operating times. An overloaded hydraulic filter can cause an excessive pressure drop, which in the worst case can lead to the bypass valve opening and unfiltered oil entering the circuit. The regular use of tested filter elements is therefore the best preventive measure against expensive damage to the hydraulic cylinders and the pump.
