Function & significance in the fuel system
The fuel pump transports petrol or diesel from the tank to the engine at the right pressure and volume. In modern systems, it takes on the task of ensuring a constant supply – even if the engine requires high performance or the vehicle is driving uphill or around bends. The store lists pre-feed pumps and high-pressure pumps, among others.
Technology & requirements
A pump must not only match the installation space and flow rate, but also the pressure behavior, control and fuel type. Only if all factors – such as engine requirements, line path and system pressure – are harmoniously designed will the pump remain efficient, durable and reliable in operation.
